Tabor is the home of a small community of Discalced Carmelite Friars. Carmelites live in community and build their day around times of prayer. Stressing familiarity with the scriptures and the value of solitude, they seek in their ministry to provide an environment where God is experienced through silence and spiritual conversation. Today Carmelites continue to draw inspiration from a rule of life written in the 13th century for a group of hermits living on Mount Carmel in Israel, and from the teachings of 16th century mystics, St Teresa of Avila and St John of the Cross.
In a desire to respond to people's spiritual needs at the beginning
of the third millennium, the Carmelites set up Tabor with a threefold
purpose in mind. for retreat details see
Tabor Retreat House

(2) To offer opportunities to converse about faith and life, especially in the light of the scriptures and Carmelite spiritual tradition.
(3) To create time and space for experiences of prayer.
The peaceful atmosphere of Tabor together with its quiet spaces and group facilities, make it suitable for a variety of uses. These uses include
