The builders moved into Boars Hill on the 18th July.

For our past visitors we have a brief overview below of the places you know.

Please feel free to check on the progress, we hope to add frequent updates.

Work started with the Annexe to replace the heating, re-wire electricity and insulate all of the walls

Wednesday 12th August
Walking through from the Bookshop end of the annexe, the kitchenettes at both ends will be refitted, and new radiatiors fitted throughout.

The bedrooms are all to have internal and external walls insulated and new doors fitted, and two small consultation rooms will be created.
Work also includes the corridor to the Chapel, (for now the only access to the Chapel is from the cloister, priory side),
the community dining room, and the conference room which overlooks the bookshop.

One conference room has been completed and the annexe accommodation is almost complete. The Chapel has been redecorated
Work is also well underway in the main kitchen, dining room, conference room and Retreat Centre
The exterior of the Priory and Chapel is also receiving attention from various trades to make it weatherproof

Friday 19th December

The contractors have now completed work in the annexe, kitchenettes, kitchen and dining room.

The scaffold is now coming down and the Retreat Centre is warm & cosy.

We are on schedule to reopen as a Retreat Centre for next year.

We will have a final update after Christmas.

Due to the extreme weather conditions we have no builders to update on - so here are a few pictures of the Boars Hill 'Whiteout'

Most places are getting back to normal but as you can see only a few have ventured in, and out, of Boars Hill.

Hopefully we will update refurbishment work progress when the builders return.........
