THE NUN: The Story of a Carmelite Vocation THE NUN: The Story of a Carmelite Vocation Ref: 10921
This award-winning documentary tells the beautiful story of Marta, a young Catholic woman in Sweden and her counter-cultural choice to follow a calling to become a cloistered Carmelite nun, and to live her life for God alone.

Documentary filmmaker Maud Nycander followed Marta and her family for ten years to tell the story of her vocation, and the Carmelite convent made a unique exception to its strict regulations by allowing the filmmaker to meet with and interview Marta both before and after her five-year postulant period. The Carmelite convent in Glumslöv in the south of Sweden is normally closed to outsiders, so this is a rare glimpse into their hidden life. Swedish with English and Spanish subtitles. 58 minutes. JESUS OF NAZARETH JESUS OF NAZARETH Ref: 9947
Two discs, starring Robert Powell, approx. 374 mins. Full un-edited version from the original eight hour mini-series. The film shows the setting and background for the birth, childhood and many miracles of the Messiah, culminating in the Divine Resurrection.
Originally made for TV in 1977, this in-depth version of Jesus' life is so thorough that the first hour is devoted solely to the story of his birth. The film doesn't skimp on some of the other landmark events of this famous story either. Director Franco Zeffirelli gives ample screen time each to the Last Supper and the Crucifixion. Passages of the Bible are quoted verbatim, the locations have a Palestine-like authenticity, and, aside from some of the principals (Robert Powell as Jesus, Olivia Hussey as Mary, and Stacy Keach as Barabbas), many of the non-Roman characters are actually played by Semitic-looking actors. Zeffirelli diligently provides the socio-political background that gave rise to Jesus' following and the crisis in belief it caused for the people of Israel (and one or two Romans).
