SAINT JOSEPH'S SECULAR CARMELITE GROUP

Welcome to St. Joseph's Secular Carmelite Group Web Page

We are a group of Secular Discalced Carmelites who meet every month at Boars Hill, Carmelite Priory. We are a group of men and women who are united in prayer, the Carmelite spirit and its saints.

WHERE DO WE MEET?

We meet every third Tuesday evening at 1615 (4.15pm) hours until 1930 (7.30pm) hours.

We begin with a cup of tea, a welcome start for members who travel any distance.

We meet in the chapel at:

- 1645 for silent prayer.

- Evening Prayer from the Divine Office at 1730 hours.

- Talk and/or discussion on group topic of study.

- Close meeting with a prayer.

- Tea for those who would like it before their journey home.

CARMELITE MONTHLY JOURNEY

During the month we read, ponder and study works from one of the Carmelite saints which we discuss in groups at our meetings.

We attend daily Mass whenever possible.

We meditate for half an hour each day.

We meet four times during the year for retreat days when we have Mass, private prayer, spiritual reading, walks, Divine Office with the monks, and lunch.
